LEODEBOLDUS, ABBOT OF FLEURY
Leodeboldus, also known as Leodebaudus, was an abbot of the Benedictine monastery of Fleury (Floriacum) in the Diocese of Orleans. He had founded this institute in the year 623.
In the earlier part of the seventh century, the monks of Cassino, fearing the barbarians, are said to have brought the body of their holy founder Saint Benedict to Leodeboldus' monastery for safekeeping.
