OFFA, ABBESS
Venerable Offa first lived as a hermitess on Mount Saint Agatha; later she became abbess at Saint Peter in Brevent, a position she held until the end of her life. Offa lived in the 11th century and died around A.D. 1070. Saint Peter Damian writes of her great holiness and praises her zeal in prayer.
