SAINT ATHANASIUS THAUMATURGUS
Saint Athanasius, called Miracle Worker (because of the many miracles he performed), was born at Cibyra in Cilicia and entered a monastery on the river Sangaris in Asia Minor, where he was subsequently ordained a priest. He wrote many books, gave the money he earned to the poor and died in old age. According to Migne*, Athanasius went to his eternal reward in A.D. 860.
