ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN AUGUST
Saints celebrated on the 21st August
Saint Baldwin (Balduinus), an abbot at Rieti (Reate) in the district of Spoleto, was a disciple of Saint Bernard, who took him particularly under his wing. Saint Baldwin died in the reputation of holiness in A.D. 1140 and was buried at the cathedral church. While the Bollandists* mention him with the title "blessed," the Roman Martyrology for the Cistercians* lists Baldwin on July 15 among the "saints", saying that he was the main patron of the city of Rieti.
