ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN JANUARY
Saints celebrated on the 4th of January
SAINT CELSUS, BISHOP OF TRIER
The name Celsus is Latin: celsus means the high, sublime.
Saint Celsus, the fifth bishop of Trier [Treves], was of a noble family, and died about the year 142 or 150, having reigned, as some believe, fourteen years and converting many to Christianity. In 980, his mortal remains were rediscovered and solemnly raised. The memory of this event is celebrated on February 23.
