SAINT FELIX, DEACON AND MARTYR
Saint Felix was deacon of Saint Narcissus, bishop of Girona (Gerunda) in the Tarraconensian area of Spain, left his fatherland with him during the persecution of Diocletian and accompanied the holy prelate to Augsburg.
Here both received hospitality at the house of Saint Afra and Hilaria, and our saint and his bishop instructed the ladies in the Christian faith. After they had stayed in Augsburg for almost a year, Felix and Narcissus returned to his bishopric, and after some time died martyrs' deaths. While the Roman Martyrology* mentions these saints together on March 18, the church of Augsburg celebrates the feast of its apostle Narcissus on October 29.
