SAINT FELIX, PRIEST AND CONFESSOR
Saint Felix was a Roman priest and confessor of the faith, for the sake of which he had to suffer many tribulations.
He restored a possessed person to sanity by getting rid of the evil spirit, and converted the tribune Probus of Nola to the true faith. When some government officials attempted to take him prisoner, they felt such severe discomfort in their hands that they cried out loud. Felix gestured to them that if only they believed in the true God they would be relieved of their agony. They were converted, received baptism, and the pain instantly left them.
The saint also drove out the evil spirits from some pagan idols and smashed that of Apollo, and no one was able to seize him. Finally he died in peace. His death happened in the early 4th century. This our Saint Felix is therefore definitely a different person from the Saint of the same name who died towards the end of the 3rd century. Saint Felix is not listed in the Roman Martyrology*.
