Saints celebrated on the 24th of June
SAINT JOHN OF PORTO, HERMIT
Saint John (Johannes Portuensis) was most probably a native of Porto (whence his name). He led a hermit's life at Tuy (Tude) in Spain, died some time before the 10th century and is buried in the Dominican church there. That the venerable head of Gandra, a parish in the Peñasiel region of Portugal, really belongs to him is not entirely certain. His name is also Johannes Teizonius, Terzonius, Izonius.
