Saints celebrated on the 17th of June
SAINT JULIAN OF ARENA, RELIGIOUS
Julian (Julianus), a monk at the monastery of Arena or Harea, is listed on June 17 in various martyrologies. However, where the monastery was located and to which Order it belonged is unknown. According to Donin*, it could be in the Netherlands. Southeast of Pavia on the Po there is also a little town called Arena; but whether the monastery in question was located at that place cannot be ascertained. Ferrarius* remarks that if neither the monastery Horreen (Horreum) in Trier or the town of Aria in the French County Artois is meant, he does not know where in the world "Harea" is.
