SAINT LONGINUS, MARTYR
Saint Longinus was a martyr who suffered in A.D. 308 under Galerius Maximianus along with his six brothers, who were also soldiers, at Satalis in Armenia.
They died at sea during a fierce storm, praying, and were buried at Petiente (Petiuntis), a town in the kingdom of Pontus - the place the vessel had drifted to afterwards. Saint Longinus is one of the Companions of Saint Orentius.
