SAINT MODESTUS, BISHOP OF VANNES
Saint Modestus is the fourth bishop of Vannes (Venetum), since those holy bishops who are listed in older catalogues after Saint Gueninus (who is venerated on August 19) are uncertain. Their names are: Dominic, Clemens, Amandus and Saturnin.
Saint Modestus is documented to have attended a synod in Orleans in A.D. 511. His feast day or the date of his death is not known to us. (Gal. Chr. XIV. 916.)
