SAINT PRIMIAN, MARTYR OF SPOLETO
Saint Primian (Primianus) suffered at Spoleto; he was put to death for his Christian faith under the emperors Diocletian and Maximian. According to the murals at the main church in Spoleto, he was torn to pieces with iron claws, and tormented with burning torches. Because the pagans could not sway Primian for him to apostatise, they beheaded him. His relics are kept in the same main church.
