SAINT STEPHEN, BISHOP OF LYON
Saint Stephen (Stephanus) was a bishop and confessor at Lyon. Successor of Saint Rusticus, our Bishop Stephen was a pious and zealous man. He died about A.D. 512. From the little information that is available about him, his great pastoral care and vigilance is particularly noteworthy. Even while he was still alive, the faithful entrusted himself to his prayers, which never went unanswered. His name is listed in the Roman Martyrology*.
Saint Stephen is also commemorated on February 12.
