ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN FEBRUARY
Saints celebrated on the 6th of February
SICHARIA, VIRGIN
Sicharia was a virgin consecrated to God, who lived in humility, innocence, and holiness at Orleans in France. When exactly she lived is unknown. This Virgin is listed in the Roman Martyrology* various other saints catalogues.
Her name is also variously spelled Sicaria, Siccaria, Sigaria, Sygaria and Signaria. The Bollandists*, however, doubt the authenticity of all these names and state that she was called Siagria (Syagria). Guerin* suggests that she died around A.D. 500. Since her name is also found in the Benedictine Martyrology (Lechner*), she must have belonged to this Order.
Sicharia is also remembered on February 2.
