VAUHIR, PRIEST AND MARTYR
Vauhir (Valtherus), a parish priest of Onhaye on the Maas, died a martyr. He was also the dean of the rural clergy in the area and became a victim of his profession. A cleric, whose unacceptable conduct he had reprimanded, fired his rifle at him. His body was held in due honour at Vazor Abbey. Guerin*, who gives him the title "saint", unfortunately does not mention the date of Vauhir's death.
