Saints celebrated on the 29th of June
ARNULPHUS, PROTOMARTYR OF THE BENEDICTINE ORDER - 29 JUNE
Arnulphus, an abbot of the monastery of Novalicia in the area of Turin, was captured and killed by the Longobards. This happened during their invasion of Gaul in 515. According to Bucelin*, who counts him among the "blessed," Abbot Arnulphus is the protomartyr of the Benedictine Order. (Buc.)
Arnulphus is also commemorated on September 21.
