JOHN OF STAGNO, RELIGIOUS
John of Stagno, one of the holy men also known as Johannes ab Anglia, was a devout Franciscan at Stagno (Stagnum or Stamnum),in Dalmatia, who died on July 8, 1539.
Incidentally, Hub. Men.* lists him also on April 9 with the addition that this apostolic man was sent to Illyria, accompanying P. Andrew, to proclaim the gospel, and that after his death, several miracles were performed at his intercession. The Bollandists* mention him among the Praetermissi on July 8. (II.533)
