ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN SEPTEMBER
Saints celebrated on the 23rd of September
Maria Agnes Menzin, a pious innocent virgin of the Order of Saint Clare at Brixen, was born in Bozen on October 5, 1663 and made her profession on April 28, 1682. On September 23, 1686 she died a saint-like death at a very young age.
As long as she could she performed the prescribed prayers with extraordinary devotion, and was a paragon of all in punctual obedience to the orders of her superiors. When she sang, she used to join the hosts of the holy angels, desiring to be able to sing the praises of God with the same fervour, purity, and devotion, and inviting her fellow sisters to do the same.
Prior to her death, she intoned the Te Deum, whichh she began to chant with those surrounding her death-bed before she gave up the ghost. Two sisters present on the occasion claimed to have seen her face light up in splendour when she passed. (Hub.)
