Petrus Aureolus, Archbishop of Aix, of the Order of St Francis, is usually just called the "eloquent teacher." A man of ardent zeal and great learning, he became cardinal at Avignon. In 1322, he died of the plague. In the menologies of the Order he is listed as "Servant of God".

Petrus Aureolus is also remembered on October 17.
