RADULF OF EBIFAGH, RELIGIOUS

A page of one of Fortunatus Hueber's
Saints' books,
"Stammenbuch..." (1693)

The Franciscan Martyrology* lists the Minorite Radulphus (Rodulphus [Rudolf, Ralph]) of Ebifagh, a British religious, as "Blessed Radulphus."

Having been a distinguished lecturer at the university of Paris, he decided to withdraw from public life. Although elected bishop because of his learning, he preferred to remain in the obscurity of the monastery, fearing the dangers of such a great dignity.

He died A.D. 1270 in reputation of extraordinary sanctity. The Bollandists* mention him among the Praetermissi.
