ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN SEPTEMBER
Saints celebrated on the 20th of September
Robert Drouet (Robertus) (Migne* states his name as Robert Droux) was formerly pastor of Bagnedun. Along with ten other priests he was brutally murdered by Protestants. Their heroic martyrdom happened in Donzy, Department Nièvre, bishopric of Nevers in France, in A.D. 1569.
On April 23, 1578, the bodies of the martyrs were buried in the church of Our Lady of Meadow (du Prè).
We also name his companions here, since they have not yet found a place in our work, namely: Johannes Mignard, prior of Epeau, Petrus Chevau, pastor of Colmery, Clemens Collina, Edmus Guerin, Mathias Gregoire, Julianus Grangier, Jakobus Delaveine, all of them Canons of Saint Caradeuc; Gregorius Coustureau, parish priest of Saint Malo, and Nicolaus Bouet, hospital administrator at Donzy. (Guerin)
Fr Robert is also remembered on August 20.
