SAINT PETER AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS
Saints Peter, Eusebius, Palatinus, Rusticus, Herebus, Mares, and nine more unnamed are said to have suffered in Africa. The name Palatinus could also be a designation of status, and in this case means something like a palace official. The place of their martyrdom is uncertain; it may have been Caesarea or Antioch in Palestine. (I. 365)
