BLESSED ERVEUS, ABBOT
Of high nobility in spirit and body, Blessed Erveus (Erucus) became abbot of the Cistercian Order (Ursicampi) in the diocese of Noyon.
Saint Bernard prophesied of him that he would attain a high degree of perfection. After many works of piety and brilliant miracles, Erveus went home to the Lord in A.D. 1142. The hagiographers give him various titles. Bucelin* calls him Erucus and Herveus. (II. 323)
