ISAIAH BONERUS, HERMIT
(Esaias Bonerus, Erem.) Blessed Isaiah was born of in Kraków of noble parents in Cracow. The pious youth became an Augustinian hermit in Casimir, not far from his birthplace.
He had acquired a wealth of theological knowledge and was a model religious. At his death he received a comforting visit from the blessed Virgin Mary accompanied by the patron saints of Poland. He died in the Lord in A.D. 1371, and was buried in the church of Saint Catherine, where many received wonderful help through his intercession. (II. 213)

Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of the blessed Isaiah may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
