EUPHEMIUS, RELIGIOUS
Euphemius, a Franciscan of the strictest observance, was born in the kingdom of Naples about the year 1576. He was a priest since 1600. Full of the Holy Spirit he went out to exhort, and preached from the south up to Innsbruck and Munich, deeply shaking the hearts of the believers. In Innsbruck, a mute girl was able to speak through his prayers. His activities took place in the midst of the Thirty Years' War, from 1630 to 1640. He then returned to Italy and died in 1648 at the 72nd year of his age. (Em.)
