SAINT DIOMEDES AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS
Saint Diomedes, Saint Eulampius (who was a native of Tarsus in Cilicia) and Saint Meliton were martyred for the faith in Cilicia. Saint Peter, who is mentioned in connection with these holy martyrs (he originally came from Sinope in Paphlagonia), was martyred in Egypt in the following manner: in an attempt to break his steadfastness in the Christian faith he was dragged back and forth over the rocks until he finally gave up his ghost. Saint Asclepiades, his companion in Egypt, was killed by drowning in the sea.
