SAINT ERLOMAN, RELIGIOUS
Because of religious or family hatred, King Monachus imprisoned Erloman (Erlomannus), an Englishman, as a youth. In tears, his mother had begged Abbot Fechin (Fechinus) to use his influence, and the holy man obtained freedom for her son.
The grateful and delighted mother then left the son with Abbot Fechin for training, and under his leadership Erloman became a model religious. His most outstanding trait was his unconditional, even blind obedience, and he persisted in his striving for holiness to the end. (Buc. Suppl.)
