SAINT EUCHARIUS, MARTYR
A 4th-century martyr of the Diocese of Toul, Saint Eucharius was the brother of Saint Eliphius, Saint Libaria and Saint Susanna.
According to Migne*, Saint Eucharius (French: St-Euchaire) was beheaded because of his Christian faith, by order of the prefect Sallust of Gaul under Emperor Julian the Apostate. His martyrdom occurred around the year 362. The Elenchus of the Bollandists* adds that Eucharius was a bishop.
He is also commemorated on October 27.
