Saints celebrated on the 23th of June
SAINT PALLADIUS AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS
Saint Palladius and Companions were martyrs in Abyssinia who may have suffered martyrdom in the persecution of Emperor Maximian. In an Abyssinian metrical register of saints they are invoked thus:
"I salute Palladius, Cotylas, and Adramas,
the three brothers,
and another three, Moses, Esas, and Paliconus (Palingenius),
joined by a second Cotylas to complete the number seven .
They died on the cross for Christ, on which seven
lame-minded and drunken idolaters
had nailed them..."
(IV. 474) These holy martyrs are also commemorated on June 3.
