SAINT THEODOTUS AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS

Saints Theodotus, Theodota, Diomedes, Eulampius, Asclepiodotus and Golinduchus are said to have suffered under the emperor Trajan. They were tied to stakes, burned with torches after their skin had been slashed, and finally beheaded. According to legend, Saint Hyacinth was the one who visited them in prison to comfort and cheer them up. (I. 634)
