ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN DECEMBER
Saints celebrated on the 2nd of December
BLESSED ODERISIUS, CARDINAL AND ABBOT
Blessed Oderisius, a cardinal and abbot at Cassino, who, because of his holiness and learning, was one of the most brilliant stars of this monastery. He came from the noble family of the Marsi. A student and successor of Abbot Desiderius, who later became Pope Victor III to rule the whole Church, Oderisius distinguished himself by exact observance of the Rule.
He received the purple from Pope Nicholas II, but this promotion did not change his strict way of life. Oderisius died on December 2, 1105, on which day he is also venerated at Monte Casino (according to Migne*). He is also commemorated on May 6. (Buc. Lech.)
