BLESSED OLBERT, ABBOT OF GEMBLOUX
Lechner* relates that Blessed Olbert (Olbertus, Albertus) was called the mirror of abbots and the ornament of monks. He is also remembered as the builder of the Saint James Abbey (Jacobskloster) in Liège. Blessed Olbert went to his eternal reward in A.D. 1048. In the works of the Bollandists*, he is listed among the Praetermissi. This holy abbot is also commemorated on July 13 and August 5. (III. 628)
