EVODIA OF PHILIPPI
Evodia was a respected woman at Philippi in Macedonia who got into an argument with Syntyche because of the administration of the care of the poor, whereupon Apostle Paul exhorted them to unity. Saint Paul incidentally gives both the testimony that they worked with him for the gospel (Philipp. 4:2,3.), which is why we are surprised that we could not find her name in any hagiographic work.
