Saints celebrated on the 25th of May
The name Eutropia is of Greek origin, meaning dexterous; good-natured.
For being a Christian, Saint Eutropia was imprisoned under the governor Apellian. This happened at Alexandria, where she also had to suffer torture by fire and finally was decapitated. The Greek church pictures her with a torch with which her naked body was tormented. (V. 492)
