SAINT EVAGRIUS, BISHOP OF CONSTANTINOPLE, CONFESSOR
Evagrius (Euagrius), a bishop and confessor at Constantinople, attained episcopal dignity in the year 370 under Emperor Valens and was consecrated by Eustathius of Antioch. Towards the end of the fourth century, the Arians revolted, and Evagrius had to go into exile, where he also died. The Roman Martyrology* lists this holy bishop on March 6. (I. 426)
