OBOLIUS AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS OF ETHIOPIA
Obolius was a martyr who, together with 260 companions, is said to have suffered "on the border of Egypt and Ethiopia". Nothing of these martyrs occurs in the registers of the Greeks and Latins, but they feature in the calendars of the Copts and in Castellanus*. The Bollandists* list them twice (III. 628 and VI. 3) among the Praetermissi. These holy martyrs are also commemorated on July 25.
