Saints celebrated on the 30th of July
Saint Olave (Olaf, Olaus), a king of Sweden, flourished in the 9th century. He had been converted by Saint Ansgar and at the time of a famine he had refused to bring an offering to the pagan idols of Upsala, and to beg them for it to cease. His staunch refusal caused a rebellion in Bizen, and some idolaters of that city assassinated the pious king. The cowardly murder took place in the vicinity of today's city of Stockholm. (Mg.)
