WELCOME!

BLESSED OTTO, PRIEST AND RELIGIOUS

Blessed Otto (December 28), monk in Nieder-Altaich, lived as a hermit with the permission of the abbot, and died godly in 1334.

When still young, Otto left his father's house with his brother, Hermann, travelled to Cologne and came from there to Niederaltaich, where Hermann became a lay brother in 1320.

Otto was ordained a priest in Niederaltaich, also went into solitude. He penetrated into the woods towards Bohemia, came to Frauenau after the death of his brother Hermann, but then went with Blessed Degenhardt on the Frauenberg near Niederaltaich, where he died and was buried in the Niederaltaich monastery.

PRAYER:

Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of the blessed Otto may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
