ONUPHRIUS OF SARZANA
Onuphrius, a Franciscan lay brother from Sarzana, died in A.D. 1445 at Nursia in Umbria with a reputation for holiness, and shone by miracles, especially the gift of prophecy. Love of poverty, mortification, and contemplation were prominent features of his godly life. Some sources list this holy man as "Blessed Onuphrius." He is also remembered on September 23. (III. 626)
