PASQUALINA, VIRGIN
Pasqualina (February 4th) was the virginal consort of Blessed Angela of Foligno, who knew all her secrets and tried to imitate her also in her holiness. Particularly distinguished by childlike simplicity, Pasqualina attained a high contemplation of heavenly things, to which she devoted herself with particular zeal. The consequence of this was heroic charity. The more disgusting the wounds of the sick she ministered to in the hospital, the more she joyfully applied herself to those patients' care for Christ's sake. Several sources list this holy virgin as "blessed." She is said to have died on February 4, 1313 and after her death to have been glorified by miracles. (I. 449 and Seraph. Mart.)
