 WELCOME!

SAINT AUDITUS OF BRAGA

Saint Auditus (the Portuguese pronunciation is "Ouvido" and therefore this Saint is also called Ovidius), was a native of Braga (Bracara) in Portugal and posterity mistakenly took him for a bishop there - he is also occasionally mixed up with Saint Avitus of Leon. Nothing else is known about Auditus than that his mortal remains were solemnly placed in a new container by Archbishop Didacus de Sousa in 1527, and that deaf people regained their hearing through this saint's intercession.

PRAYER:

Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Auditus may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
