Saints celebrated on the 29th of May
SAINT BURIAN, VIRGIN
Saint Burian [Buriena] was an Irish lady. To honour her relics, king Athelstan built a college within sight of the Scilly rocks, with a church, which enjoyed the privilege of a sanctuary. See Borlase, ib. p. 349; Leland, Camden, etc.
(From Fr Butler's Lives of the Saints)
PRAYER:
O God, who gladden us each year by the feast of the blessed Burian, graciously grant that, as we rejoice in her merits, we may be inspired by her example. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
