SAINT IRENAEUS AND COMPANIONS
(SS. Irenaeus, Or et Orepsis, MM.)
Saints Irenaeus, Or, and Orepsis (August 30) were martyrs. They feature in various Greek saints' registers and are stated to have suffered a variety of torments and afterwards obtained the palm of martyrdom by the sword in the days of the pagan emperors. On August 22 (IV. 490) the Bollandists* list them among the Praetermissi, noting that the Greek Meneae mention these holy men on August 22. Migne*, too, places them on that date. (VI. 552)
