SAINT PAPOLUS, BISHOP OF GENEVA
This saint was bishop of Geneva at the beginning of the seventh century; he was present at the solemn elevation of the mortal remains of the holy martyr Victor in the year 602, whose relics were later transferred from Solothurn to Geneva. He was very old at that time, and is known as a man of exceptional holiness. (Lütolf, Hoffnungsb. p. 148 ff.)
