SAINT THEUSETAS AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS OF NICAEA
(S. S. Theusetas et Soc. M. M.)
In Nicaea, Saint Horrus (Horres), son of Saint Theusetas (Theusetes, Theusebius) suffered martyrdom by fire for being a Christian. Theusetas was killed in the same way. Several companions were burned to death along with them: Theodora, Nymphodora, Mark (Marcus), Arabia, a bishop named Julius; also Alexander, Pion (Picius), Mary (Maria), Dion, Trabia, Quartus, Misetheus, Ariaba (probably the Arabia already mentioned) , Poenes (perhaps identical to Pion), Parta, Victoria (Victuria) and Victurinus, and two other companions whose names have not been handed down to us (II. 261).

PRAYER:
May your Church rejoice, O God, trusting in the support of your holy martyrs Theusetas and companions, and, by their glorious prayers, may she remain holy and fearlessly stand her ground. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
