Saints celebrated on the 15th of March
PAULA, BAPTISTAE MEZAVACHAE, VIRGIN
Paula, Baptistae Mezavachae, a companion of Saint Catherine of Bologna, is buried next to her. She is called "blessed" by some hagiographers, the Bollandists*, however, list her among the Praetermissi.
This holy lady, after entering the Order in Ferrara, practised every kind of monastic virtue, but especially active, self-sacrificing love for sick, tempted, anxious sisters in need of advice and encouragement, as well as great severity against herself. She also possessed the gift of prophecy and miracles. Paula, who went to her eternal reward in 1492, is also remembered on March 28 (II. 372).
