ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN SEPTEMBER
Saints celebrated on the 20th of September
Gerard (Gerardus, Gerhard) (September 20), a native of Cologne, was a hermit in Egypt. Saint Lidwina was notified of his death in a vision in which she saw his soul floating heavenward. Because there is no proof of his public veneration, the Bollandists* refrain from giving him the title “saint” or “blessed.” In the life of Saint Lidwina it is related that Gerard passed away blissfully on October 12, 1426.
