WELCOME!
SAINT ELIAS, BISHOP OF SITTEN
Saint Elias, a bishop of Sitten (Sedunum)
[Diocèse de Sion] in the Valais [Wallis] region [in today's Switzerland] resigned his bishopric out of humility and decided to conclude his earthly pilgrimage as a hermit in the diocese of Novara in Italy. When, as bishop of Sitten, he was acquainted with Saint Julius, as some sources assert, Elias must have lived in the 5th century.

PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Elias may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
