SAINT ELIAS, PRIEST AND MARTYR
Saint Elias [Elijah] was a holy priest in Cordova [Cordoba], who, as an old man, was martyred along with the youthful monks Paul and Isidore for the sake of the faith. They won their eternal crowns around the year 856. The names of these saints are listed in the Roman Martyrology* on April 17.
