MEGINBOD, ABBOT OF BÜRABURG
Meginbod (Meginbodus), commemorated on March 16, was abbot of Buraburg [Büraburg]. The writer of local legends, Wion, states that he headed a monastery called Burbach. This is considered an error by the Bollandists* in their work. Wion describes Meginbod as "a man of great holiness and learning." According to Trithemius*, he was a monk in Fritzlar at first. Some authors consider him identical with Bishop Megingaud of Würzburg.
